To celebrate AWA’s National Water Week, Sequana invites you to join the launch of its Sequana Stream Series with a special event that brings to life the 2024 theme ‘Accelerating Action.’ This desalination-focused webinar will provide an opportunity to learn from experts in the field.
Hear from some of Australia’s leading desalination experts as they discuss water security and its role in ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come with the impacts of climate change whilst demystifying its carbon footprint.
As Australia faces the dual challenges of declining rainfall and a rapidly growing population, the need for a reliable, sustainable water source has never been more critical. Desalination, the process of converting seawater into fresh, potable water, emerges as a robust, climate-resistant solution. It offers a way to address water scarcity while considering environmental and social impacts, making it a key component in Australia’s strategy for water security.
Sequana is currently involved in multiple desalination projects around the country. Many of our team members, including our chief engineer Gary Crisp, who has an unparalleled track record in this space, had held key roles on desalination projects before joining Sequana.
Tapping into NWW’s theme ‘Accelerating Action’ our experts, alongside Julien Tauvry from Suez, who is managing the largest desalination plant in Australia and the greenest in the world, will discuss how desalination projects can tackle water scarcity and provide a safe future for generations to come with the impacts of climate change.
Our speakers will explore the complexity of the desalination process while emphasizing the ongoing efforts to reduce negative environmental effects (e.g., environmental impact assessments, use of renewable energy sources, implementation of energy recovery systems, development of advanced membrane technologies, brine and waste management…).
We are excited to be part of the conversation and look forward to seeing you online!
