Tamworth Regional Council has appointed Killard Infrastructure to construct the sewer and water trunk mains to service the Arcadia development located in the Hillvue area of Tamworth.
Killard Construction will commence establishing a site works compound at the intersection of Duri and Bylong Roads in mid-June. It is expected to commence construction works prior to the end of June.
Stage 1 of the project includes the construction of approximately 1.0km of trunk sewer mains and 1.4km of trunk water mains. This construction will primarily take place along Duri Road between Hillvue Road and Burgmanns Lane. It will service the South Western portion of the Arcadia Development. Some of these mains are up to 5m deep, and construction includes an under-bore of the Main Northern Rail Line for the new sewer main.
Construction of Stage 1 is expected to be completed prior to Christmas.
Killard Infrastructure is a multi-functional civil construction company with over 20 years of experience working with sewer, water and stormwater mains throughout NSW & QLD.
The construction of the works is fully funded by Tamworth Regional Council. The funding came from a combination of Developer Contributions and Water and Sewer Reserves. Stage 1 works will be over $2.4 million. When Stage 2 is undertaken in the future, it is anticipated to be a further $3 million worth of works.
Creating durable water and sewer infrastructure is a key theme of the Council’s Blueprint 100 strategy. This project will help support future population growth in the Hillvue area, which facilitates the provision of more diverse and affordable housing to the Tamworth region.
