Applications have now closed for the 2023 TasWater Graduate Program intake, with interviews commencing in early November. TasWater is thrilled with the calibre of candidates who have applied to the program.

TasWater targeted graduates from Engineering, ICT, Environmental Science and Media and Communications disciplines with a nationwide advertising campaign.

Successful graduates will commence with TasWater in late February 2023.

TasWater’s Manager of Organisational Planning and Performance, Yvette Gilbert, said a two-year structured, competency-based program supports graduates in building their technical knowledge and skill in the workplace. It also seeks to put their university learnings into practice.

“But it’s not just about skill and technical knowledge,” Gilbert said. “We as a business put just as much emphasis on the personal growth of our graduates. At TasWater, we aim to provide a memorable experience for our graduates. It starts from their first interaction with us, through the recruitment process, and continues through their tenure with the organisation.”

TasWater Graduate Program looks for individuals

“Our advertising process for our Graduate Program is focused on the individual. TasWater wants to know what unique skills and experience they can bring to TasWater, their most outstanding university achievement and why they want to work with us. We want to know what makes our graduates unique and positioned to play a vital part in our business.

“We aim to build confident, self-aware, affiliative team members throughout the graduate program. It focuses on building a personal brand and effective networking skills. We want them to focus on continually improving our graduate program and heightening the experience for younger and future graduates,” Gilbert said.

“Evidence of this involved the current group of Graduate Engineers and Trainee Project Managers undertaking a road trip across the state.

“This allowed them to visit project sites and active treatment plants along the east and north-west coast of Tasmania. TasWater seeks to provide them with a broad overview of the varying operations and work that TasWater undertakes outside their current roles.”

TasWater will announce the successful participants after the interview process has been completed.
