Improvements to critical water and sewerage services will become a reality for 50 Queensland councils thanks to the Queensland State Government, following the announcement of the latest Building Our Regions funding round.

Building Our Regions has a long and successful history of supporting Queensland’s local governments to invest in essential regional infrastructure, creating jobs and flow-on economic development opportunities.

To date, including Round 6, the Building Our Regions program has contributed to 370 projects across 69 local government areas. The program has leveraged close to $610 million in additional funding from other sources. That brings the total program expenditure to over $1 billion, supporting an estimated 3,180 construction jobs.

More than $69 million was approved for 99 projects that will improve water and sewerage services in 50 regional and remote local councils. The largest funding approved was $2 million, and the smallest was $50,000.
