PumpLogix Plus modernises pump station control

Smith & Loveless has launched PumpLogix Plus, a standardised, HMI-ready pump station controller designed to streamline upgrades, enhance operational visibility and improve lifecycle performance across municipal and industrial pumping applications.

Smith & Loveless has introduced a new generation pump station controller aimed at utilities and operators looking to replace ageing relay logic panels with a more streamlined, digitally enabled platform.

The PumpLogix Plus Pump Station Controller is designed for duplex and triplex above-ground pump stations, offering a standardised configuration that reduces the need for custom engineering while supporting common wastewater and stormwater applications.

At the centre of the system is a front-mounted touchscreen LCD interface that provides operators with real-time visibility into system status, intuitive navigation, and built-in help functions. The goal is to simplify operations while improving situational awareness at the panel.

The controller includes integrated input and output capacity to support two- or three-pump configurations without additional modification. Four relay outputs manage pump control and station alarms, while a level transducer with backup float capability provides redundancy within the control strategy.

A simulated wet well level display offers operators a visual representation of conditions inside the station. This feature supports faster interpretation of performance trends and potential issues without requiring additional instrumentation.

The system is also capable of controlling variable-frequency drives, adjusting pump speed based on wet well levels to deliver more responsive, energy-efficient operation.

Built to NEMA 4/4X standards, the panel is designed for wastewater and stormwater environments where reliability and enclosure integrity are critical. Compatibility with Smith & Loveless’ RemoteView platform enables remote monitoring and troubleshooting, reducing the need for site visits and shortening response times.

According to Smith & Loveless, the controller is intended to provide a practical upgrade pathway for existing installations while lowering lifecycle costs through standardisation and improved diagnostics.

The PumpLogix Plus platform is designed for municipal wastewater authorities, rural sewer networks, private and commercial developments, industrial facilities, and remote infrastructure such as military bases and national parks. By combining a uniform control architecture with enhanced monitoring capability, the company positions the system as a step toward safer, more transparent and more maintainable pump station operations.
