WaterNSW regulatory assessment and approvals specialists will hold drop-in licensing information sessions in Goondiwindi and Bega this month to assist customers in navigating regulations critical to their business operations.
Lodging applications for groundwater bores, metering rules and floodplain harvesting are among the issues WaterNSW personnel will be on hand to address:
- TUESDAY, 19 November, at the Gateway to Training building, 15-21 Russell Street, Goondiwindi, Qld., between 9 am and 4 pm (NSW AEST).
- THURSDAY, 21 November, at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre, Zingel Pl, between 9 am-4 pm.
The Goondiwindi and Bega sessions are one of several outreach information clinics targeting areas without the opportunity for face-to-face appointments in nearby WaterNSW offices.
Customers will be able to either drop in at any time or book a 30-minute appointment throughout the day to discuss the following:
- Licenses, applications and approvals
- Non-urban metering regulations
- Lodging groundwater bore applications in the WaterNSW customer portal
- Floodplain harvesting
- Farm dams/harvestable rights dams.
According to Stakeholder Engagement Manager Brendan Maher, WaterNSW scheduled the events in consultation with Border Rivers Food and Fibre and in response to customer feedback, including from recent field days.
“We know some customers don’t have ready access to WaterNSW regulatory experts to receive face-to-face assistance on matters important to running their businesses. These outreach sessions are about making that opportunity available.”
“We are also available to meet with customers at field days around the state. Field days have been a great opportunity to speak to our customers in large numbers, provide them useful information to help run their businesses, and to hear from their local perspective about topical issues in their area,” Maher said.
