Drains are necessary for any site for unwanted water to be safely flumed away. Often, they run into sewers or stormwater mains as waste discharge. K-Magnaseal seeks to solve that problem.
For sites with chemicals present, wear and tear will inevitably occur with plant equipment, thus creating a risk of spillage and drain contamination. All it takes is a simple hole, puncture, or abrasive wear in a metal vessel to begin the leak.
When this occurs, a site must be shut down for clean-up to occur safely. Often the chemical has reached the drain and is already beginning to flow away.
Kinder Australia has introduced their K-Magnaseal range to stop the leak instantly at the source. It also covers the drain to ensure no chemical contamination to the stormwater and surrounding environment.
Provided in insulated carry-cases ready for when an emergency occurs, K-Magnaseal is available as the Leak Patch and Drain Cover. No tools are required to apply. The patented rare-earth magnets allow for a simple, safe and rapid application.
“If a leakage is not patched up on a site, the number one risk would be the risk to the staff being exposed to a hazardous material,” said Operations Manager Charles Pratt. “You also have environmental concerns, loss of production and downtime.”
Strong and flexible, the combination of urethane and rare-earth magnets protects the K-Magnaseal from direct heat, cracking, rusting, and sparking, leading to other potential dangers. The Leak Patch can withstand 25 psi of pressure and a temperature resistance of 200° C. The Drain Cover is thin, flexible, and available in four different sizes. It can be a variety of magnetic strengths, as well as non-magnetic, if required.
Stop leaks at the source before chemicals endanger operators and water catchments. Keeping a K-Magnaseal on site as part of an Emergency/Hazchem Response Kit will take up little space for a big piece of mind.
