Celebrating milestones and partnerships, Itron’s advanced Temetra platform expands across Australia, highlighting innovative water metering solutions.
Itron has achieved a significant milestone by deploying its Temetra solution in 50 Australian utilities. Temetra, a cloud-based meter data collection and management platform, has transformed utility operations by providing greater efficiency and accuracy in water metering. This accomplishment demonstrates Itron’s continued commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology solutions tailored to the specific needs of Australian water utilities.
“Australia is no stranger to water shortages due to its dry climate, recurring droughts and the challenges caused by climate disruption, making water management a complex issue. On top of these challenges, population growth is increasing the demand on existing water infrastructure, which is aging and prone to inefficiencies,” said Don Reeves, senior vice president of Outcomes at Itron. “We are excited to celebrate this significant milestone. Collaboration enhances water management
Building on its success, Itron has strengthened its partnerships with TasWater and AqWest, two leading Australian water utilities. These collaborations underscore Itron’s dedication to providing tailored solutions that address unique regional challenges in water management.
TasWater has adopted Itron’s smart water metering technology, which enables the utility to enhance operational efficiency, reduce water loss, and improve customer service. By leveraging Itron’s solutions, TasWater can monitor water usage in real time and identify leaks faster, ultimately contributing to sustainable water resource management.

Temetra enables us to reduce billing errors, which improves customer satisfaction. Similarly, AqWest has embraced Itron’s technology to drive improvements in its water management processes. Known for its commitment to delivering high-quality drinking water, AqWest has integrated Itron’s solutions to enhance operational efficiency and better serve its community. This partnership demonstrates Itron’s ability to customise its offerings to meet diverse utility requirements across Australia.
