Civil Survey Solutions has successfully concluded its “Drainage, Sewer and Flood” workshop series on the east coast of Australia in Hobart, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne during March. With constant customer demand for guidance on efficiently managing hydro projects, Civil Survey Solutions decided to take the solutions on the road to them.

Industry professionals from various sectors, including local government, water authorities, and private companies, attended the workshop sessions. Civil Survey Solutions kept the number of attendees small to ensure maximum engagement and interaction with the presentations. The half-day workshop showcased a range of water management solutions. It was also an opportunity to show how they can be utilized to improve workflows in real-world situations. The Tasmanian Flood Mapping Project was of particular interest as it represents how InfoWorks ICM can develop a tool that identifies statewide flood risk.

The presentations included speakers from both Autodesk Innovyze and our in-house technical team at Civil Survey Solutions. Civil Survey Solutions’ Technical Services Manager, Shane O’Rorke, an experienced civil engineer within local government and various road and infrastructure projects, delivered a very successful presentation to attendees on the capabilities of InfoDrainage and the 2-way exchange of information with Civil 3D.

Matthew Piggott is an experienced Stormwater and Water resources engineer who works as a Solutions Engineer at Autodesk Innovyze. He provided attendees in Hobart, Brisbane, and Sydney with an insight into how InfoWorks ICM can deliver their desired outcomes. One example is systems that can withstand extreme weather events.

Eland Afuang is the Senior Solutions/Systems Engineer at Innovyze Autodesk. He leads a team of experts providing best-in-class water infrastructure modelling, simulation, and predictive software covering the entire water life cycle. He provided attendees in Melbourne the opportunity to see InfoWorks ICM in action. Afuang also answered a wide range of questions regarding how InfoWorks ICM could be utilized by different organizations.

The range of questions received from participants during and after the workshop demonstrated the value and relevance of the presentations. These events also provided opportunities for attendees to network with each other and industry professionals. The feedback received from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing interest in attending future workshops.
